Position Goal:

To maintain and enhance the facilities and grounds at a level that reflects positively on Traders Point Christian Schools and further the mission of the school.

Qualifications:

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Candidates must be professing and maturing Christians enthusiastically supporting the School’s statement of faith and mission statements. As well as,

  • One to two years of related work experience is required. Previous work experience in an educational setting is preferred. Related experience could entail construction, mechanical services, or facilities work.
  • Communication skills (oral and written) and confidence in conveying information to all types of members of the community, including teachers, administrators, trustees, parents, and students.
  • Commitment to the institution’s needs and readiness to respond as reasonable and necessary.
  • The ideal candidate will excel at developing collaborative relationships with all constituencies.

Qualifying Characteristics:

  • The Facilities Coordinator has a clear biblical testimony of salvation with an authentic and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both their professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education. 
  • The ideal Facilities Coordinator must have the desire to work closely and nurture a positive relationship with students, teachers, parents, staff, school administrators, and community members. This position requires you to be inward and outward-facing. 
  • The Facilities Coordinator must demonstrate respect for all staff, students, and community members. 
  • The ability to exercise good judgment, set a good example, and comply with school standards is a must as well as the ability to deal with and address sensitive and confidential issues in a tactful and professional manner. 
  • The ability to work independently as well as on a team. 
  • In addition, the position requires the ability to organize and prioritize work, resolve problems, follow through, and manage multiple priorities to ensure that goals are met in a timely manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conducts regular inspections of the Early Childhood, Lower School, and Upper School buildings to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Responds to facility work orders originating from building users, using established processes and develops new processes as appropriate
  • Schedules and performs regular preventive maintenance on all building systems, including MEP, roofs, finishes, and other equipment.
  • Helps manage 3rd party contractors and the fulfillment of their contract obligations.
  • Assists in overseeing contracted cleaning services.
  • Assists with organizing, scheduling, and supervising all repairs and construction projects, with sensitivity to TPCS seasonality and operational needs.
  • Collaborates with program and staff leadership to understand special needs and maintain quality of support to the mission (e.g., academic leaders, food services, athletics, transportation, and security).
  • Completes set-up and tear-down for the Early Childhood on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. 
  • Collaborates with colleagues 
  • Provides facility support to campus events (e.g. setups and teardowns).
  • Assists with student transportation duties (drop-off starts at 7:40 am, driving the bus, etc.). 
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations (kid sickness, snow removal, meeting with vendors, etc.) in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the facilities are clean throughout the school day. 
  • Maintains inventory of tools and supplies for custodial, maintenance, and emergency preparedness.
  • Performs a wide variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the schools. 
  • Creates and updates standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

CDL License /willingness to obtain a license

Must provide a certified driving history/record upon acceptance of offer. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Crawl, climb ladders, twist, turn, and reach in completing a variety of job duties.
  • Work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the TPCS.

 Exempt Status: Exempt, salaried

 Work Schedule: 12 month
