Position: Athletic Trainer (Full-Time)

Reports to: Athletic Director

Position Goal:

The goal of this position is to support Traders Point Christian School’s mission to challenge and educate students within the framework of a Biblical worldview while leading them to a personal faith and transformed life in Jesus Christ.

Primary Responsibility:

Traders Point Christian Schools is excited to announce the opening of a Full-Time Athletic Trainer position! We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department and positively impact the health and well-being of our student-athletes. This new role offers the right candidate a wonderful opportunity to engage with students and contribute to our dynamic athletic program.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field (Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Biology) is preferred (or working toward a degree)
  • 1-2 years of Athletic Training experience
  • Athletic Training license issued by the state of Indiana is required
  • CPR Certification
  • Excellent communication and people skills

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive athletic training services, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation support for our student-athletes.
  • Attend all home athletic events to ensure the health and safety of our athletes throughout competitions.
  • Collaborate with coaches, athletes, and parents to promote a proactive injury prevention and wellness approach.
  • Assist with administrative duties in the athletic department during designated morning hours, coordinated with the Athletic Director.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of athlete injuries, treatments, and progress.
  • Post and upload injuries and status when needed through the IHSAA website.
  • Stay current with advances in sports medicine and implement best practices in your daily work.
  • The ability to exercise good judgment, set a good example, and comply with school standards is a must, as well as the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues in a tactful and professional manner. 
  • At TPCS, your role as a staff member involves a pastoral element whereby, through example and direct instruction, you are acting as a minister of our Christian faith. 
  • You must be able to address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, and the work hours will be designed to meet the needs of our athletic programs. Morning hours will be designated for administrative responsibilities, while afternoons and evenings will primarily include practices and games. The specific schedule will be collaboratively determined with the Athletic Director, ensuring flexibility to balance both administrative and training duties.
